Company directors will hear the business thoughts of speakers ranging from actor Kevin Spacey and campaigner Bob Geldof to the Prime Minister when they meet for their annual conference.
The Institute of Directors has gathered leading politicians, business executives and showbiz personalities to address its convention in London.
Gordon Brown and David Cameron will speak to the 3,000 delegates within hours of each other amid continuing concerns about the state of the economy in the face of the global credit crunch and fall in house prices.
A different aspect will come from double Oscar winning star Spacey, who is currently artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London. He is dedicated to promoting social responsibility within the arts sector.
Other speakers will include Dame Fiona Reynolds, director general of the National Trust and Brent Hoberman, co-founder of lastminute.com. IoD director general Miles Templeman will open the conference with a speech on how to make the UK more competitive.
The institute recently warned of a slowing in the economy, predicting in its Spring Economic Forecast that UK GDP growth will fall to 1.7 per cent in 2008, and will remain weak at 1.5 per cent in 2009.
