Best Known For: Playing Billie Piper's character's boyfriend in Doctor Who

Early Life: Noel was brought up on a London council estate by his mother.

He always wanted to be an actor but was put off by the cost of drama school, so he initially trained to be a gym instructor.

Then in 1999 he got his first big break in controversial TV series Metrosexuality.

Other acting roles followed, including playing Wayne's son, Wyman, in the 2001 series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet, and parts in Waking The Dead, Judge John Deed and A Touch Of Frost.

Noel also has experience of rapping and DJing. His group, BUZ Clique, made the finals in a national contest hosted by Radio One DJ Tim Westwood.

In 2003 he won the Most Promising Performer Olivier Award for his role in Richard Wilson's Royal Court Theatre production of Where Do We Live.

Career High: Winning critical acclaim for writing and starring in British film Kidulthood in 2006.

Love Life: Noel is in a happy relationship with his long-term girlfriend.
