Best Known For: Being married to football legend George Best

Early Life: Alex was born in Surrey and was a sporty child and teenager - she played lacrosse and swam for England.

She became an air hostess after leaving school and when she was 22 she met footy ace George Best in Tramp nightclub in London.

In 2004 she landed a place on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! alongside glamour girl Jordan and former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona.

Career High: She won the coveted Rear Of The Year in 2004.

Love Life: Alex married George in 1995 but after George's problems with alcohol and womanising, the couple split in September 2003. However they remained good friends.

Alex is apparently still engaged to businessman Howard Kruger, who she has had an on-off relationship with for five years.

Don't Mention: It was reported that Alex was excluded from George's graveside burial following his death in 2005. However, she was among mourners at the funeral service at Stormont.
