Early Life: Michael, the middle child of three siblings, was born in Ontario, Canada, the son of Linda and Luigi. He has an older and younger sister.

A professional actor since the age of 10, Michael auditioned for the role of Cole in The Sixth Sense, which went instead to Haley Joel Osment.

In 2002, he was cast as the young Chuck Barris in the George Clooney-directed film Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind.

His big TV break came in the form of the role of George-Michael Bluth in dysfunctional family sitcom Arrested Development, playing Juno co-star Jason Bateman's son.

Career High: Playing love-struck Evan in Superbad, and Ellen Page's best pal Paulie in Juno, giving him world-wide recognition.

Love Life: He's been linked to stand-up comedienne and actress Charlyne Yi.
