Sacha up to Bruno mischief?

Sacha Baron Cohen has been pretending to be Bruno

Sacha Baron Cohen has apparently been up to his cheeky tricks again - this time while pretending to be his character Bruno.

The Ali G and Borat star interviewed a former Israeli spy and a Palestinian academic while being the Austrian fashion presenter, the Sun reports.

Sacha claimed he was filming a youth documentary while he quizzed spy Yossi Alpher and academic Ghassam Khalib about the conflict.

He apparently told them the conflict in the Middle East was not as bad as Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston fighting over Brad Pitt, and referred to pressure group Hamas as "hummous".

"What's the connection between a political movement and food? Why hummous?" he is reported to have said.

The interviewees only caught on to the trick when the mock Austrian asked them to hold hands to sing a song about the war.

Sacha filmed the interview in Jerusalem's Old City for his forthcoming Bruno movie, due out next May.
