Elton turns to ice cream

16 July 2008 10:55am

Sir Elton John is the latest star to get the Ben and Jerry's treatment, with a new limited edition ice cream flavour Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road coming out in the US later this month.

E! Online reports that the flavour was said to have been concocted with the help of the outlandish star and consists of "an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks."

It will be available for one week only later this month to coincide with Elton's first concert in the US state of Vermont, where the ice cream manufacturer is based.

Proceeds from the flavour will benefit Elton's own Aids foundation.

"I can't think of a more fun way to celebrate playing my 50th state, Vermont, than having Ben and Jerry's create a special ice cream, Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road, with all my favourite flavours and ingredients," Elton said. "I'm especially pleased that they will be donating the proceeds to the Elton John Aids Foundation."

"We're thrilled with the final combination, plus we've got the Rocket Man's seal of approval," Ben's business partner Jerry Greenfield, said.
