Rockers Motley Crue have had their own day named after them.
At a special ceremony held outside of the world famous Guitar Centre on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, representatives of the City of Los Angeles officially declared July 31, 2008 Motley Crue "Saints Of Los Angeles" Day in the city.
Lead singer Vince Neil joked that the band didn't have time to hang around in the town on their special day. Instead they were all straight off to Phoenix to perform.
"We're going to celebrate with a concert tonight!" he said.
Drummer Tommy Lee added that they'd get to properly enjoy the honour later this week, saying: "We'll be back here in Los Angeles in a couple of days so we'll celebrate then too, we'll probably celebrate all damn year."
Saints Of Los Angeles is the title of the band's ninth studio album. The city is also where the American metal band first formed back in 1981.
