Harry Potter fans have been given a special glimpse of the latest movie with the release of the film's trailer.

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince sees the boy wizard and Professor Dumbledore unlock the secrets of Lord Voldemort's dark past in an attempt to defeat the sinister villain.

For fans unable to wait until the film's release in November, the new trailer has provided a sneak peek of what the sixth instalment has in store.

The eerie trailer features ominous music and dramatic special effects set to thrill cinemagoers worldwide. It focuses on a flashback scene with the character of Tom Riddle (a young Lord Voldemort), who reveals his magical powers to Professor Dumbledore.

The boy tells the wizard he can speak to snakes, make things move without touching them, and make bad things happen to people who are mean to him.

The film is directed by David Yates and sees Daniel Radcliffe back as Harry, joined by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as his Hogwarts classmates Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. The star-studded cast also includes Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent.
