Early Life: Jennifer was born in Houston, Texas, to a chemical engineer father and professor mother.

When she was young her parents moved the family to West Virginia where she attended George Washington High School.

A talented dancer, Jennifer dreamed of being a ballerina. However, as she got older she became interested in acting and studied theatre at Denison University in Ohio.

She graduated in 1994 and moved to New York to launch an acting career, quickly bagging an understudy role in a Broadway production.

She then headed to LA to try to find TV and film work and was cast in several TV shows, such as Spin City and Swift Justice, as well as appearing in films including 1997's Deconstructing Harry.

Her big break came in TV series Felicity in 1998, which brought her to the attention of the show's producer JJ Abrams - who later cast her as the lead in Alias.

Career High: In 2002 Jennifer won a Golden Globe for Best TV Actress for Alias.

Love Life: Jennifer married her Felicity co-star Scott Foley in 2000 but they divorced in 2004.

She started dating Ben Affleck later that year and they tied the knot in 2005. The couple have a daughter, Violet, and now Jennifer is expecting another child.

Don't Mention: Stunts. Jennifer was practising doing flips for the film Daredevil when she apparently got tangled in some wires and nearly crashed into a wall.
