Stars turned out for a glamourous fundraising event last night, on the eve of this year's Venice Film Festival.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt star in the Coen Brothers' latest film Burn After Reading, which opens the Festival tomorrow.

Heartthrobs George and Brad took the opportunity to host a continental fundraiser for their charity Not On Our Watch, which has raised money to help victims of crises such as that in Darfur.

The charity was launched last year by the stars and some of their colleagues - including Matt Damon and Don Cheadle.

Last year the four apparently took the chance to raise money for the charity when they were together at the Cannes Film Festival.

At one point last night, George was seen to dash past photographers saying he would be "un momento".

Luckily the festival was a short skip and a jump for George, who often resides in his luxury villa in Italy's Lake Como.
