Jamie Winstone and presenter Alexa Chung were among the stars who attended the opening day of London Fashion Week today.

They were joined by Kate Moss' ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack at the Luella - the label belonging to former Vogue journalist Luella Bartley - show this morning.

Also showing today are Temperley London, whose fans include actresses Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore and Sarah Jessica Parker, while British designer Jasper Conran will preview his spring/summer 2009 outfits.

Welsh designer Julien Macdonald, who describes his clothes as "sexy, high octane, powerful and liberating", will give what is perhaps the most anticipated show of the week.

The day will finish with Paul Smith's latest British classic designs.

An estimated 5,000 buyers, models and journalists have descended on the Natural History Museum for the week.
