Oasis to close Electric Proms

Oasis will close the BBC Electric Proms
29 September 2008 11:55am

Oasis will be the headline act for the final day of the BBC Electric Proms, it has been announced.

The band will be accompanied on stage by Crouch End Festival Chorus for the final day of this year's festival, which will be held at the Roundhouse in Camden on Sunday October 26.

Speaking about the band's performance, Noel Gallagher said: "We are doing the Electric Proms, and we're doing it with the Crouch End Choir as well... there's 50 odd of them... because some of the songs on the album have got a 50 piece choir on them.

"So we're gonna do a night at the Proms with that lot, it should be good actually... Ennio Morricone uses them for his spaghetti western stuff in England, so I'm already looking forward to that because I've never played the Roundhouse and I've never done the Proms."

Tickets to see Oasis go on sale on Tuesday September 30 at 8.15am at www.bbc.co.uk/electricproms.

The performance will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 from 9pm and BBC Radio 2 at 10.45pm on Sunday October 26.

All performances can be accessed via red button technology and on mobile.
