Bad Lashes are the first act to be booted out of the live finals of this year's series of The X Factor.
The Geordie quartet lost the battle of the girl bands after two of Louis Walsh's groups found themselves in the bottom two on the ITV1 talent show.
And their performance of Oasis classic Wonderwall was not enough to save them, although judges Louis, Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole were divided between the North East foursome and Girlband.
Earlier the girls had performed It Must Have Been Love as part of the first live final theme of No 1 hits.
Commenting on their performance, Dannii said she loved their makeover, and said that the thing that would distinguish them from other girl bands was their personalities.
Simon wasn't so impressed, saying: "The fun has been sucked out of you. It's like eating water - it doesn't do anything for you."
After the public vote left Girlband and Bad Lashes fighting it out, Simon pronounced that both their performances were shocking, but opted to save Girlband. Cheryl and Dannii both put their support behind Bad Lashes, but Louis decided not to take sides by evening the score and leaving it to the public to decide the outcome. And as Bad Lashes got the least votes, they faced a tearful farewell.
After the result, Louis said he was disappointed that Bad Lashes were leaving the show. He said: "I'm devastated for the girls because they had so much more to give."
