Jack White has been forced to pull out of the MTV Europe Music Awards due to injury.

The White Stripes rocker suffered a slipped disc in his neck while on tour in the US with his other band The Raconteurs last month, the Sun reports.

A source revealed: "Jack's still in a lot of pain. He hoped it would have cleared by now but the injury is refusing to heal.

"MTV are disappointed, as are Bond film chiefs. No one knows when he'll be fit enough to travel again."

Jack and soul singer Alicia Keys - who have collaborated on the theme song for new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace - were due to be the top-secret headliners of the music TV channel's awards ceremony in Liverpool on November 6.

The rocker's injury will also affect promotional plans for the new Bond song as doctors in his home city of Nashville have advised him not to travel far in his current condition.
