Kate Hudson's Halloween mayhem

Kate Hudson's Halloween costume party allegedly attracted a visit from the police - and their uniforms were real.

The Fool's Gold star held a fancy dress party at her Brentwood home at the weekend where stars including Courteney Cox, husband David Arquette, Winona Ryder, stylist Rachel Zoe, Cindy Crawford and Gerard Butler partied into the small hours.

But according to The New York Post, LAPD officers arrived at the house at around 1am on Sunday morning to ask to keep the noise down.

A party insider apparently revealed: "Kate was dressed as a 60s flight attendant."

The source added her son, Ryder Robinson, "was nowhere in sight".

Courteney Cox dressed as a witch, David Arquette as a wizard, Winona Ryder was a mouse, Rachel Zoe wore a flapper costume, and Cindy Crawford dressed up as Amy Winehouse for the evening.

But the source revealed Gerard Butler's cowboy costume was the biggest hit of the night.

The insider said: "All the girls at the party were lining up to talk to Gerard - he left with two very sexy vampires."
