Brad Pitt has revealed that being a dad has made him a tougher person - but fans need not worry that the sex symbol is turning into a mean machine.

"Fatherhood has made me as hard as nails," the Ocean's Thirteen star tells Oprah Winfrey on her show.

"I'm impervious to poo, snot, urine, vomit. You can't get me. You cannot break me down."

The 44-year-old, who has six children with girlfriend Angelina Jolie including four-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne, admitted that days out turn into a full-blown mission.

"We don't go to the mall," he said, adding that it takes them at least 30 minutes to go anywhere, but Angelina is very militant.

And he says that his kids often don't realise how funny they can be.

"They're the funniest people. Shiloh now only wants to be called John or Peter. It's a Peter Pan thing," he says.

The TV interview, scheduled to screen on November 19, is Brad's first interview with Oprah since his break-up with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in 2005.
