Boy George 'wanted sex with HIV man'

25 November 2008 04:16pm

Boy George wanted to have sex with a male escort even though the singer knew the younger man was HIV positive, a court has heard.

Audun Carlsen, 29, claimed the 46-year-old pop star and DJ beat him to the floor, handcuffed him to a wall and lashed out at him with a metal chain when he tried to escape.

He has told Snaresbrook Crown Court he was hired by the singer for a naked photo shoot at the pop star's home in Shoreditch, east London.

He told the court the singer, who is being tried under his real name of George O'Dowd, was "very clear" that all he required from Mr Carlsen was his services as a model.

But during the first of two meetings, which took place in January and April 2007, it became clear Boy George wanted to have sex with him, Mr Carlsen said.

He told the court the singer performed a sex act on him while he was sitting naked in a chair for "five seconds before I said no". He said he turned down 80 per cent of people who contacted him looking for sex on that basis.

But defending barrister Adrian Waterman said: "You had told George that you were HIV positive, hadn't you?" to which Mr Carlsen answered: "Yes."

Mr Waterman: "And you still say he performed unprotected oral sex on you?"

"Yes," replied Mr Carlsen.

Boy George denies one charge of false imprisonment.
