George Clooney is keeping his ER co-stars in the dark about whether he will make a return to the medical drama for its final season.
"I have no idea," said British actress Parminder Nagra, who plays Neela in the series. "I don't think they would tell any of us if that was ever going to happen. It would all, I think, be undercover if it happened."
"The great thing about the show is you never know," added Scott Grimes, who plays Dr Archie Morris. "Tomorrow morning, someone could say yes."
Other ER alumni including Anthony Edwards as Mark Greene, Noah Wyle as John Carter and Laura Innes as Kerry Weaver have been confirmed to return for stints in the final season, which premieres in the UK on More4 on January 8.
However, the show will go on, whether George's Dr Doug Ross gets his stethoscope out or not.
"We've heard lots of wonderful stories about him and everything, but you know, the show is always as it has been," said Linda Cardellini (Sam Taggart). "Regardless of who is on the show, it's the whole thing. The show must go on."
