Cate Blanchett on Kate Winslet

Cate Blanchett has joked how she sometimes gets mistaken for another famous Kate - Kate Winslet.

The Aviator actress joked how it can sometimes get confusing for people that there are so many famous Kates in Tinseltown.

"Well, Kate Winslet and I share the same agent," Cate explained. "Often people will say 'I recognise you, you were great in Titanic'!"

Laughing she added "Winslet, Blanchett - look if I'm mistaken for Kate Winslett I'm happy.

The actress was speaking after she'd received a star on Hollywood's legendary Walk of Fame, watched by her family and director Steven Spielberg.

The Aussie star had nothing but praise for her fellow Kates, mentioning not only Winslet but also Kate Beckinsale.

"Both of them are British and they come from a very long and different tradition of filmmaking to America," the actress told reporters. "The very fact that all of us have been able to move in between our own filmmaking culture and work here in America is something that we're all proud of."
