Producers of long-running hospital drama ER have discussed trying to entice George Clooney back for the programme's finale.
Show creator John Wells was reported in okmagazine.com as saying: "We have talked about it a couple of times. If he stops by and wants to do it, he'll do it."
The silver-haired actor came to fame as Dr Doug Ross in the show, a role he played for fiver years until 1999.
He has since gone on to become one of Hollywood's leading men, with a string of movie hits behind him.
A return to the small screen will come as a welcome return for the legions of ER fans.
But the programme's producers don't seem overly optimistic.
John Wells said: "George is very busy and very handsome. He is just finishing up in Puerto Rico on a film."
ER is set to conclude its 15-year run with a two-hour special to be broadcast on March 12.
