New presenter joins the T4 team
Channel 4 have announced a new presenter is joining the T4 team.
Jameela Jamil, 22, will next month become a part of the T4 collective, which already includes Steve Jones, Miquita Oliver, Alexa Chung and Rick Edwards.
Viewers may have seen London-born Jameela co-presenting E4 Music and Channel 4's Freshly Squeezed music programme with Nick Grimshaw, and is set to start her T4 stint alongside new pal Rick Edwards.
E-model Jameela was spotted during one of T4's screen tests searching for a new T4 face last year.
Jameela said: "Over the last three months, I have never had more fun. It is so incredible to have a job that you look forward to going to so much. I'm terrified because I've been watching T4 for as long as I can remember! I look up to people like June and Dermot, and feel stupidly privileged to be working with the likes of Rick, Miquita, Steve and Alexa."
Neil McCallum, head of T4 at Channel 4 commented: "We're delighted to add such a vibrant and talented presenter to the T4 team today and look forward to her debut appearance. Jameela encapsulates exactly what we were looking for in our extensive search for new presenting talent. She is funny, irreverent and effervescent and will add an exciting new dimension to the programme."
Jameela will be first appear on screen on T4 weekends in early February.
