Paris Hilton has denied she tried to steal the limelight from Lady GaGa.
The hotel heiress was recently photographed with eccentric singer Gaga in a London nightclub, sparking rumours Paris was trying to be the centre of attention.
Paris told Heat magazine she was thrilled to meet the Just Dance singer.
"I met Lady GaGa for the first time when I was in the UK," Paris, 27, said, "and the papers made out that I was trying to steal her limelight. But I was so excited to meet her!"
She continued: "She was so sweet and I love her music. Don't pay attention to the papers - it's so silly."
Paris recently spent time in London searching for her new British best friend and was rumoured to have bought a property in Camden. Writing in her column, she said: "Every time I come to London, the papers say I've bought a property, but that's not true. Even Ricky Gervais believed them and wrote an open letter to Obama, asking him to persuade me to come back to LA! I think Ricky's funny and don't take it seriously. I know he's just doing it for a laugh."
Paris Hilton's column appears in Heat magazine, on sale every Tuesday.
