Mathew Horne and James Corden said they will stay off the bottle at the Brits - at least until after they have finished presenting.
The Gavin and Stacey comedy duo are hosting this year awards at Earls Court and said they will resist the urge to get drunk so they do not mess up the gig, The Sun reports.
James, who said he was desperate for a drink before hosting the NME Awards last year, said: "I remember Mat being really strict, saying 'No, come on. We've got to keep it together.'
"But maybe I'll have a little drink, a tiny one, just to see me through."
Co-star Mat said one drink may well tip him over the edge to go on a drinking spree.
"If I have a drink," Mat said, "I want to get on it. I can see your headline now - Mat Horne: My drinks hell."
The lads have been preparing for the show for the last fortnight and have hired top scriptwriters to help out.
James said: "The thing is with the Brits, it's a hard one to fill and I sympathise with the people who have to put it together.
"You want it to feel like an event and you want the people hosting it to be capable of doing it well. The problem is you just don't actually know how it will go until they step out and do it."
The Brits take place on February 18.
