Sienna Miller will tread the boards in New York in a production of After Miss Julie.
The 27-year-old actress will begin at The American Airlines Theatre on October 22 in its production of playwright Patrick Marber's take on a 19th Century Strindberg classic Miss Julie, about class, sex and power.
The three-character play will be directed by Mark Brokaw, and other casting will be announced later.
In After Miss Julie, Marber has updated Strindberg's Miss Julie to 1945 on the eve of the Labour Party's election victory in England. Sienna will portray the title character, a wealthy young woman involved with a family manservant.
