Peter Andre takes time preening

Peter Andre admitted taking longer to get ready than wife Katie Price for an Oscar viewing party.

The British pair attended Sir Elton John's lavish annual fundraiser in Los Angeles, both dressed all in black.

Asked who took longer getting ready, glamour girl Katie said: "Pete - always. He must have washed his hair and changed it about five different times."

Pete, in a black shirt and tux, said: "It's not exactly true. I normally take five minutes but today I took a bit longer, even though she's the glamorous one."

Katie, wearing a Lloyd Klein gown, revealed she narrowly averted a fashion crisis before the event.

"The dress I was originally wearing got flown in on Monday but it's still at customs - they won't let us have it... So yesterday I just had to go and get this dress."

It was not entirely clear why the dress was kept back, although Peter said it was "because of the material".
