More Iron Man for Samuel L Jackson

Samuel L Jackson has joined the cast of Iron Man 2.

The Hollywood star will reprise the role of Nick Fury, the leader of spy outfit SHIELD, reports Variety.

The 60-year-old first appeared as the character towards the end of last year's Iron Man.

And Samuel's outings as the character might not stop there - the trade mag says he's inked a long-term deal to play Fury, meaning he could reprise the role in other Marvel superhero movies.

Samuel joins Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow in the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. Tim Robbins and Mickey Rourke are also rumoured to be in the frame for parts.

Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau, looks set to hit the big screen in 2010.
