Paris Hilton is the celebrity the British public would most like to see struck by lightning.

The hotel heiress and socialite - who recently came to Britain in search of a new best friend for her latest reality TV show - topped a poll conducted by new online TV service FilmOn.TV to celebrate its launch.

Paris was the celebrity people most wanted to be struck by lightning with a massive 61 per cent of the vote. Reality TV's Jodie Marsh was second, followed by footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in third place, Kerry Katona in fourth and U2's Bono came fifth.

Peaches Geldof, Lily Allen, Ashley Cole, Katie Price and Victoria Beckham completed the Top 10.

The Weakest Link host Anne Robinson, Tom Cruise and Simon Cowell were all also named in the poll.

Alki David, FilmOn.TV founder, said: "To launch FilmOn.TV we decided to film the British public answering a question that cuts to the core of our perceptions of modern celebrities. There are certain famous people out there who we can all agree need an act of God to snap them out of their current behaviour and the British public have now spoken.

"Though the public named a diverse range of famous figures they would like to see smoulder, the fact that Paris Hilton was the person who first leapt into the minds of 61 per cent of the people we polled does suggest that she should change her ways and make us believe she could certainly do with improving her image."

FilmOn.TV enables people to watch over 2,500 television channels in real time, hi resolution video with a basic broadband connection.
