Ross Kemp and his newspaper editor wife Rebekah Wade have been granted a "quickie" divorce on the grounds of his adultery.

The former EastEnders star and Ms Wade, editor of The Sun, did not attend the proceedings.

Ms Wade, as petitioner, was granted a decree nisi by a district judge sitting at the Principal Registry of the Family Division of the High Court in central London.

She and Kemp, 44, who played Grant Mitchell in the BBC soap, married in a Las Vegas ceremony on June 11, 2002.

In a written question-and-answer style divorce document before the court Ms Wade, 40, is asked: "State briefly your reasons for saying that the respondent has committed the adultery alleged."

She answers: "I found certain evidence indicating adultery. The respondent then admitted the adultery."

Asked on what date it first became known to her that he had committed the adultery alleged, Ms Wade said it was in October 2006.

In another question she was asked: "Do you find it intolerable to live with the respondent?" She answered: "Yes."

Ms Wade stated that since October 2006 she had not lived in the same household as Ross.
