Roxanne Pallett has given the red light to her debut performances in a Shakespeare plays.

The former Emmerdale star was due to tour with A Midsummer Night's Dream, but has pulled out.

Roxanne's agent said: "Due to the Dancing on Ice tour running into the rehearsal period for the British Shakespeare Company, Roxanne Pallett has had to bow out of the project but wishes the company a fantastic run as she now looks towards forthcoming roles."

Dropping out of the tour, which is due to begin tomorrow (Wednesday) will come as a blow to the actress, who commented in March on how she was looking forward to the role.

"I have dreamed of acting in a Shakespeare play ever since I started acting," said former Emmerdale actress Roxy.

"I had an audition during Dancing On Ice and by the time I had got back to the rink to train, the director had called me to say I'd got the job."
