Aaron Carter insists he's never been "over confident" about winning Dancing With The Stars.
The singer, who was almost in tears after receiving poor marks from the judges last week, insists he's never been cocky about taking home the trophy.
"People have their own opinions," he said at the show's taping in LA this week, adding: "Sometimes with the media things get chopped up and cut around to make stories and that's what happened in that case."
He continued: "It's important to embrace winning, we want to win, but, hey, look what's going on right now, we might not win."
But the pint-sized singer certainly hasn't lost his fighting spirit.
"I'm going to come out there and give it my all, I'm not going to back down. I would rather lose this competition knowing that I went out there giving it everything I had, rather than winning it and knowing that I didn't."
You can see if Aaron's Lambada impressed the judges this Friday.
Dancing With The Stars runs in the UK exclusively on Watch, Fridays at 9pm.
