A charity has launched a series of videos and podcasts designed to make financial advice more accessible to young people.

YouthNet is putting articles and videos, which feature 16 to 24-year-olds, on its website TheSite.org.

The real life case studies cover issues such as bank charges and how to cope with earning less than the minimum wage, while they also feature advice and information from financial experts.

There are also regular updates from a young woman who talks about her experience of saving, and considers whether to use the money as a deposit on a house or whether to spend it on travelling.

Hannah Joliffe, editorial manager of TheSite.org, said: "The new content on TheSite.org shows real experiences young people have faced with their finances, which will in turn help others to deal with their own financial situations.

"By providing video and audio footage as well as written articles, we are also providing a way for visitors to choose how they access the information they need in a way that's best for them."

The new content was funded by internet bank Egg and the Citi Foundation.
