Millions of homes could benefit from faster internet broadband connection by a "simple" device developed by telecoms giant BT, the firm has announced.
The so-called I-Plate, fitted to a socket in the home, filters out the electrical interference caused by TVs, lighting and home wiring, which can affect broadband connection, BT said.
Cameron Rejali, managing director, products and services, BT Wholesale, said: "Most consumers are unaware of the impact that faulty TVs, fluorescent lighting and home wiring can have on their broadband performance."
